New Approach for Beginning Violinists
The New Approach was developed by Kato Havas and is a unique way of accessing and recognizing simple, naturally balanced motions used in everyday life and applying them to learning the fundamentals of violin playing. This technique helps to alleviate the unnecessary tensions that can develop as violin playing progresses. In a relaxed setting we will explore and develop the building blocks that form the foundation of free and easy playing, and will focus on developing a set of simple exercises that will continue to be useful as your experience grows.
The key to unlocking the benefits of this technique revolves around learning to direct your inner musical voice to specific coordinated musical gestures based on simple and recognizable balanced actions. You will explore and discover these simple balances in a safe hands-on environment where our focus is "how can I make this easier."
