Windham Orchestra

2011-12 CONCERT SEASON
Hugh Keelan, Music Director

Under the direction of Music Director Hugh Keelan, the Windham Orchestra will continue its exploration of major symphonic works and intriguing less well known orchestral pieces.  Keelan’s emphasis on the collective power of the Orchestra’s sixty professional and amateur musicians enables it to present evocative performances of significant works of Western classical music.  During 2011-2012, the Orchestra’s 42nd season will feature great Romantic symphonies of Mahler, Rachmaninoff and Saint-Saëns, as well as music of Wallingford Riegger and Stravinsky.

In March the orchestra will present the winner of its annual Concerto Competition for high school students. The Orchestra’s final concert will showcase the talent of 17-year-old violinist, conductor and composer Matthew Woodard of South Hadley, MA in the Stravinsky Violin Concerto.
