In-School Performances

Each year Music in the Schools brings ensembles to perform in area public schools. Performances have varied from Classical music to World music, from puppeteers to dancers. Each performance is 45 minutes long and is designed to actively involve the audience.

Schools are asked to sign up for performances at the end of the academic year, for the following school year. However, if there is space available, reservations can be made for the same academic year.

Meet the Orchestra Concert

Every spring the Latchis Theatre opens its doors to a thousand students from as many as 19 public and private schools around Brattleboro. The Windham Orchestra takes the audience on a musical adventure geared especially for school aged children. Performances have included works such as Peter and the Wolf, Tubby the Tuba, and Carnival of the Animals. For many children, this is their first opportunity to experience a large-scale performance in a big theater.

The 2007-08 Meet the Orchestra concert will be held on April 3rd, as the Windham Orchestra presents Ferdinand by Matthew Naughtin based on the book by Munro Leaf.
