Genzinger String Quartet

The Genzinger String Quartet, which includes three former New England Bach Festival musicians, begins the Blanche Moyse Centennial Year celebrations with a concert featuring the quartets of Haydn and Mozart. Evan Johnson and Mark Rike, violins; Peggy Spencer, viola; and Loretta O'Sullivan, cello, perform on period instruments and play with exquisite shading and detail.
Sarasa Chamber Music Ensemble

Directed by cellist Timothy
Merton, Sarasa performs the ever-popular Four Seasons of Antonio Vivaldi,
featuring the scintillating violinist Elizabeth Blumenstock. The performance will include
recitations of the poetry that inspired Vivaldi’s image-rich music. Sarasa “radiates eloquence and
elegance” (Boston Globe, 2008), and is comprised of some of the most significant
players of early music performing today.”
New England Bach Festival Musicians Reunion

The orchestra of the New
England Bach Festival was carefully chosen by Blanche Moyse for their
dedication to joyful excellence and contained some of the most brilliant
players from across the country. Sixteen members of that orchestra reunite to
celebrate the 100th birthday of Mme. Moyse in a concert that features oboist
Stephen Taylor and flutist Susan Rotholtz in works of Handel, C.P.E. Bach, and
of course, J.S. Bach.
Parnas/Serkin Trio: Pianist Peter Serkin with Violinist Madalyn Parnas and Cellist Cicely Parnas

Blanche Moyse was one of
world-renowned pianist Peter Serkin’s early teachers. Mr. Serkin continues the
tradition of mentoring exceptional young talent with his tutelage of the
granddaughters of legendary cellist Leslie Parnas. Violinist Madalyn Parnas,
18, and cellist Cicely Parnas, 16, join with Peter Serkin for a concert of
piano trio masterworks.
Schumann Trio
Friday, May 7, 7:30 pm, Centre Congregational Church, Brattleboro, VT
The Schumann Trio was
conceived in 2008 by violin/violist Michael Tree, clarinetist Anthony McGill,
and pianist Anna Polonsky. These three acclaimed musicians, audience favorites
of the BMC and Marlboro Music Festival, come together to explore the rich,
under-performed repertoire for clarinet, piano, and viola or violin.
